GTA 6 trains and the Vice City metro
Updated · 3 min read
Yes, GTA 6 has trains. A metro train with "Vice City" on its side appeared in the 2022 leaked footage, an elevated line modelled on Miami's Metromover is in the background of Trailer 2, and community mappers have since placed about a dozen metro and people-mover stations around Vice City, copied from Miami's Metrorail and Metromover. Outside the city, rail bridges, tunnels and stations run north through Leonida to Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia. Rockstar hasn't said yet whether you can ride them. Every mapped station is on our map under transport.
Updated Oct 16, 2026: added the Trailer 2 sighting, the "Metro Mule" name, the Vice City railyard and the rumours to ignore. Oct 15: first version.
Is there a metro in GTA 6?
Almost certainly. Three separate sightings point to a working metro in Vice City:
- The 2022 leak. Among the roughly 90 leaked development clips was footage of "a character walking through a 'Vice City Metro' train", as VGC reported on September 19, 2022. Rockstar confirmed the leaked footage was real.
- Trailer 2 (May 2025). A brief background shot shows an elevated transit line over the city. Spanish outlet Vandal identified it as GTA 6's version of Miami's Metromover, the free, driverless train that loops over downtown Miami.
- Official screenshots. GTA Intel says Rockstar's screenshots show the metro "in action". We haven't found which image they mean, so treat that one as unverified.
Rockstar's own material hasn't mentioned a metro by name yet. Vandal says the in-game system is called "Metro Mule", after a worn "Vice City MetroMule" logo fans found on a GTA Online vehicle (the Nightmare Scarab, 2018). That's a fan find, not a Rockstar statement.
Where are the Vice City metro stations?
The stations mapped so far, with the real Miami stations they match:
Most matches are Metromover stops, Miami's free downtown people mover. More unnamed stations are pinned downtown. Names in the game may differ from the mappers' labels.
Is there a train to the airport?
Looks like it. Mappers have pinned both a metro station and a people-mover station at VCIA, Vice City International Airport, matching the real MIA Mover that links Miami's airport to its rail station. The Extended Look shows Jason and Lucia meeting a client at an airport, though not a train.
Are there trains outside Vice City?
Yes, at least as track. Rail lines cross the state:
Together they trace a line from Vice City to the inland towns and the Gulf coast, the way Florida's freight and Amtrak lines run. Whether these are rideable passenger trains or only freight is unknown.
Can you ride the train in GTA 6?
Not confirmed. Rockstar hasn't shown the player riding a train, and the Extended Look focused on cars, bikes and boats. Series history doesn't settle it either: GTA IV had a Liberty City subway you could ride, and GTA V had the Los Santos Metro and freight trains. Until launch, any "drivable train" or "own your own locomotive" claim is rumour: the Facebook posts making those claims cite no source. We'll update this page on launch day, November 19, 2026.
Is there a GTA 6 metro map?
Not an official one. Rockstar hasn't published a transit map, and there are too few confirmed station names to draw one honestly. Use the transport category on our map to see every mapped station, bridge and terminal at once, and the Vice City region page for the neighbourhoods around them.
