Is There an Official GTA 6 Map?
Updated · 3 min read
Short answer: not yet. As of October 2026 Rockstar has not published a readable, full map of Leonida. What's official so far is the names of six regions, a cartoon poster map in a $399.99 merchandise box, and a brief look at the pause-menu map in the August 2026 Extended Look. Every detailed GTA 6 map online, including ours, is community-made from official trailers and screenshots. The full map arrives with the game on November 19, 2026.
Updated Oct 14, 2026: first version, with the Vice City Collection poster.
What has Rockstar officially shown of the map?
- Six regions (May 6, 2025). With Trailer 2, Rockstar's website listed the places to explore: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga, each with a short description and screenshots.
- Named places. The same copy names Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market, the VC Port, the Allied Crystal sugar refinery and Leonida Penitentiary. Later Ultimate Edition material added Washington Beach, Watson Bay's Paradise Garage and Lake Leonida.
- The pause-menu map (August 27, 2026). Rockstar's Netflix Extended Look briefly showed the in-game map, with satellite-style imagery, but never long enough to read.
- A poster map (September 2026). See below.
Rockstar has also never published county borders. County names like Vice-Dale or Leonard come from signs and police cars in the footage.
What is the GTA 6 poster map?
Around September 24, 2026, Rockstar opened pre-orders for the "Goodtime State – Vice City Collection", a merchandise box at $399.99 (£349.99), shipping from November 19 and limited to one per customer. It does not include the game. One of its 11 items is a double-sided souvenir poster with Macca the Gator on one side and a map of Leonida on the other.
Rockstar's first product photo showed the poster with place labels. Fans read names like "Sandbars" and "Crude Islands" before Rockstar swapped in a version with the labels erased. The poster is drawn in a cartoon style and its islands don't match the fan maps exactly, so treat it as souvenir art rather than a precise map. Both names are pinned on our map: Sandbars and Crude Islands.
Does GTA 6 come with a physical map?
Unconfirmed. A GameStop sign suggested a "collector's map" with the boxed edition, but the box is only a download code and Rockstar hasn't listed a map among its contents. The paper GTA maps of older games came in the box; that hasn't been announced for GTA 6.

Which map should I use before launch?
Use one built only from official material, so you know what's real. Ours shows 889 places on the GTADB community basemap, each with its own page: start at Vice City or the Ocean View Hotel, browse the real-life locations, or grab the full GTA 6 map image. On launch day we switch to in-game confirmed locations as fast as they're found.
