Vice City vs Miami
Updated · 3 min read
Short answer: yes, Vice City is GTA 6's Miami, and a close one. Rockstar hasn't labelled which real places it copied, but the community has matched hundreds of buildings: Vice Beach is Miami Beach, downtown's Sahara Arena is the Kaseya Center, and the Ocean View Hotel is the Clevelander on Ocean Drive. On our map, 131 places are matched to a real Miami address and 58 to Miami Beach; browse them in GTA 6 Miami locations and Miami Beach locations.

Is Vice City based on Miami?
Yes. Every outlet that covered the trailers says so, and the matches are hard to miss: art deco hotels on a beach strip, a downtown arena on the bay, Little Cuba with its panaderías. Rockstar describes Vice City as "the glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city" and calls its port "the cruise ship capital of the world". The original 2002 Vice City was Miami in the 1980s; GTA 6's is Miami today.
Vice City neighbourhoods and their real Miami counterparts
Neighbourhood names are the ones used on the community map; the real-life side comes from where the matched buildings actually stand.
Is Ocean Drive in GTA 6?
Its double is. Vice Beach's seafront strip, Shore Drive, copies Ocean Drive hotel by hotel: the Clevelander, the Cardozo, the Congress and more are all there, mostly in the pastel art deco style Rockstar promises for Ocean Beach. Trailer 1 has a scene filmed right on it: see it on the map.
Is Little Havana in GTA 6?
As Little Cuba, yes. It's one of the few Vice City neighbourhoods Rockstar names itself ("bustling panaderías"), and the community has matched its buildings to Little Havana around Calle Ocho and West Flagler Street. Cuba the country is a different question: see Is Cuba in GTA 6?
What about the rest of Florida?
Vice City is only one of six regions. Press read the Leonida Keys as the Florida Keys, Grassrivers as the Everglades, Port Gellhorn as the Panhandle around Panama City, and Ambrosia as the sugar towns around Lake Okeechobee. Rockstar told Game Informer it researched Panama City, Jacksonville, Ocala and small rural towns, but also that Leonida may not have "those exact locations": don't expect Disney World or the Space Coast. Every match is listed on GTA 6 real-life locations.
