Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Updated · 2 min read
Not at launch. GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version or a PC release date. Take-Two's CEO says Rockstar "will make more announcements in due time", and a recent report points to early 2027, but nothing is official. If history repeats, PC players wait a year or more. Meanwhile our map works in any browser, so you can explore Leonida on PC right now.
Updated Oct 15, 2026: first version.
Is GTA 6 on PC?
No, not on day one. Rockstar's GTA VI page and Take-Two's August 2026 earnings release list two platforms: PS5 (marked "Plays Best On") and Xbox Series X|S. There's no Steam, Epic or Rockstar Launcher listing, no PC pre-order and no PC system requirements.
What has Take-Two said about a PC version?
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has been asked many times and has never ruled it out:
- "Rockstar always starts on console", and "historically, Rockstar's gone to console first."
- Asked directly about PC, he said Rockstar "will make more announcements in due time."
- At an investor event on September 17, 2026, he said Take-Two aims "to launch for any platforms for which there's a meaningful audience", and that "the PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company over time."
Press read that last one as a nudge towards PC, not a confirmation.
When will GTA 6 come out on PC?
Unknown. The two signals so far:
- A report from October 2026, citing four unnamed sources, says a PC version is planned for early 2027 (Q1). VGC had earlier reported a similar rumour of a PC release before the end of March 2027. Rockstar hasn't commented.
- Rockstar's track record, which points to a longer wait:
| Game |
Console release |
PC release |
Wait |
| GTA V |
Sep 17, 2013 |
Apr 14, 2015 |
~19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 |
Oct 26, 2018 |
Nov 5, 2019 |
~12 months |
| GTA 6 |

On that pattern, late 2027 or 2028 would be normal. Early 2027 would be Rockstar's fastest PC port yet.
Can I play GTA 6 on PC some other way?
Not officially. Cloud services can only stream games that are on them, and GTA 6 isn't announced for any. Be careful with "GTA 6 PC download" sites: there is no PC build, so those files are scams or malware.
What PC will I need?
Rockstar hasn't published system requirements, and there's no official download size even for the console versions. Any spec list you see now is a guess.
