Short answer: yes, GTA 6 Trailer 3 is out. Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026, about a month before the game arrives on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It's a 90-second story trailer that opens in the Leonida Keys, and press count it as the third trailer after Trailer 1 and Trailer 2. Fans had also called August's 30-minute Extended Look "Trailer 3", so this page covers both, and where each scene sits on our map.
Updated Oct 18, 2026: added the Oct 15 Launch Trailer, its song and what it shows. Oct 15, 2026: first version.

90 seconds of story: the conspiracy, Jason and Lucia's past |
Rockstar never posted a video called "Trailer 3". When it announced the Extended Look on August 6, 2026, fans started calling that Trailer 3, since it was a gameplay video rather than a trailer. The Launch Trailer is the third video Rockstar actually titled a trailer, and outlets like VICE call it the third GTA VI trailer. For the songs and shots of the first two trailers, see GTA 6 trailer locations.
What does the GTA 6 launch trailer show?
The story. Rockstar's description opens with "Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them." An easy score goes wrong and they end up "in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida", on "the darkest side of the sunniest place in America".
- The Leonida Keys. The trailer opens in the Keys, which earlier trailers barely showed. That's where Jason lives, at his house owned by Brian Heder.
- Vice City. Rooftops, streets and the skyline of Vice City, the setting named in the first line of the description.
- Heists and escapes. A robbery, speedboats and a helicopter escape that looks like it goes wrong.
- Jason and Lucia's past. Jason's time in the Army and Lucia calling him from jail, which fits her release from prison in Trailer 1. More in our Jason and Lucia guides.
It's light on gameplay: no new map, activities or systems. Rockstar says it was captured entirely on PS5. Some outlets read an ankle tag on Lucia as a sign she's on parole; the trailer doesn't say, so we've left it off the map.
What song is in the GTA 6 launch trailer?
"Flower in a Hurricane" by Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Justice, the French electronic duo, composed GTA 6's original score, and the song is on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, out with the game. Our GTA 6 radio stations guide lists every confirmed station and song.
Where is the Extended Look set?
Mostly in Vice City, with trips into the wetlands and the Keys. The places it named or showed:
- Effluvia, a rooftop bar in Vice City where Jason and Lucia meet Brian Heder.
- Megamundo headquarters. Jason and Lucia escort an executive, Andrés de León, to the tower and a firefight breaks out inside. Mappers had already placed Megamundo downtown, matched to One Biscayne Tower.
- Bayside, a neighbourhood Lucia names after a police chase, with storefronts and a beach.
- An airport, where the pair meet de León. Rockstar didn't name it. The big one on the map is Vice City International: see the VCIA Metro Mover station.
- Jason's beachfront home in the Leonida Keys, with the basketball hoop. Pinned as Jason's House.
- The swamps, where Jason drives a small boat and snorkels. That's Grassrivers country.
- Lucia's apartment, shown in more detail than before. Not placed yet.
What else did the Extended Look show?
Stores and crime. An Ammu-Nation (Jason steals a red car outside one), a masked store robbery, and a bank job with Raul Bautista as getaway driver.
Activities. Track, street and dirt-bike races, car meets, base jumping and parachuting from Vice City rooftops, kayaking, scuba diving, fan boats, pool, mini golf (new to the series), backyard wrestling, a gym that needs a membership, a gun range with timed targets, and a zoo. All of it is in our GTA 6 activities guide.
Systems. A six-star wanted level, police that recognise your clothes, characters who need sleep, clothes and weapons stored in your car, a Focus mode that highlights points of interest, switching between Jason and Lucia mid-mission, and an in-game social network where posts go viral.
A familiar face. Near the end, Lucia greets a woman she calls "Val" at the airport. Fans and the GTA Wiki identify her as Valentina from GTA Online's Money Fronts update. Rockstar hasn't commented.
Did the Extended Look show the map?
Briefly. A pause-menu map with satellite-style imagery appeared on screen, but not long enough to read. Rockstar still hasn't published a standalone map: see GTA 6 official map. It did give scale, though. After hands-on previews, Rockstar North's Rob Nelson was reported as saying Leonida is about twice the size of GTA V's map. Our map size guide has the numbers.
Will there be another trailer before launch?
Probably not. A launch trailer is usually the last one, and Eurogamer calls it "likely the final trailer before release". The next fixed dates are digital pre-load on November 12 and launch on November 19, when we start pinning everything in the game.
