Is GTA 6 on PS4?
Updated · 2 min read
No, GTA 6 is not coming to PS4. It launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar hasn't announced versions for PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, and nothing suggests it will. If you're still on a last-generation console, you'll need a PS5 or an Xbox Series X or S to play. You can still explore Leonida today on our interactive map, which runs in any browser.

Why isn't GTA 6 on PS4 or Xbox One?
Rockstar hasn't explained it, but its first trailer in December 2023 already named only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and that never changed. The game is built around things last-generation consoles struggle with: a map Rockstar says is "around twice the size" of GTA V's, more than 170 animal species, and localised weather that Rockstar rebuilt for this game. See how big the GTA 6 map is.
GTA V did the opposite: it launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, then was re-released on PS4 and Xbox One in 2014. Don't expect a cut-down PS4 version of GTA 6 the same way.
Will GTA 6 come to PS4 or Xbox One later?
Very unlikely. Both consoles are more than a decade old, and a PS4 version has never been mentioned by Rockstar or Take-Two. Treat any "GTA 6 PS4 download" as a scam.
Will GTA 6 come to Nintendo Switch?
Nothing announced. Rockstar has brought older games to Switch (the GTA trilogy remasters, Red Dead Redemption), but never a new GTA at launch.
Does GTA 6 run on Xbox Series S?
Yes. The Series S is a launch platform alongside the Series X. Rockstar hasn't published resolution or frame-rate targets for either.
What's in GTA 6 when you do get it?
The whole state of Leonida: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Our locations guide lists every named place so far, and the Ultimate Edition guide lists what the $99.99 version adds, from Rideout Customs to Stock 305.
