GTA 6 Locations
Updated · 3 min read
GTA 6 takes place in Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida, and Rockstar has named six regions to explore: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. This page lists the locations that have been shown or named so far, and links each one to the map. Our map holds 889 places in total.
Updated Oct 15, 2026: first version, plus a section on GTA 6's cities.
What are the main locations in GTA 6?
Rockstar's site lists six places to explore. Open any of them on the map:
- Vice City: "the sun and fun capital of America", with Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market and the VC Port.
- Leonida Keys: a tropical archipelago with boat parties and dive bars, based on the Florida Keys.
- Grassrivers: the wetlands, where "the gators may be the most famous attraction". Based on the Everglades.
- Port Gellhorn: "Leonida's forgotten coast" of cheap motels and empty strip malls.
- Ambrosia: farm country around the Allied Crystal sugar refinery and a local biker gang.
- Mount Kalaga: the northern national park, with hunting, fishing and off-road trails.
Rockstar has not published a region map or a list of counties. For the county names fans have read off signs, see the five community county pages: Vice-Dale, Leonard, Kelly, Mariana and Lummox. Lummox County appears only in the August 2026 leak.
What cities are in GTA 6?
Vice City is the only big city. It's GTA's Miami and the centre of the map; Rockstar calls it "the glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city". Rockstar North's Rob Nelson reportedly told a previewer that Vice City alone is about twice the size of GTA V's Los Santos. The other regions are built around towns, not cities:
| Place |
What it is |
Based on |
| Vice City |
The one major city, with Ocean Beach, Little Cuba and the VC Port |
Miami |
| Port Gellhorn |
A run-down Gulf coast town of motels and strip malls |
Probably Panama City (inference) |
| Ambrosia |
Farm towns around a sugar refinery |
Probably towns around Lake Okeechobee (inference) |
| Leonida Keys |
Island towns, boat yards and dive bars |
The Florida Keys |
Early plans reportedly had three cities, according to Axios, but the game we know has one state with one city. Liberty City only appears in Lucia's backstory (details), and there's no Tampa- or Orlando-style city confirmed.
Which stores and businesses are confirmed?
Named in Rockstar's own material (trailers, the Ultimate Edition contents and the Netflix Extended Look):
Several of these shops are Ultimate Edition content. Exact in-game positions are not confirmed until the game is out on November 19, 2026.
Which activities are confirmed?
Rockstar and its previews show gyms, shooting ranges, fishing, hunting, races, water activities (jet skis, airboats, kayaking, scuba) and basketball courts. Where each one sits in the world is mostly unconfirmed before launch.
Which GTA 6 locations are based on real places?
Vice City is Miami, the Keys are the Florida Keys, Grassrivers is the Everglades, and Ambrosia's refinery resembles the U.S. Sugar refinery in Clewiston. Port Gellhorn is probably Panama City, which is inference. Our real-life locations page matches in-game places to their real counterparts, and Vice City vs Miami goes street by street.
What isn't confirmed?
Cuba is not a region (details). Gloriana, a neighbouring state named on number plates, has not been confirmed as playable. Collectible locations are unknown until launch; the collectibles hub goes live with them. For the full map, see how big the map is and the trailer locations.
