Is Franklin in GTA 6?

Not as far as anyone knows. Rockstar hasn't announced Franklin, Michael or Trevor from GTA V, or Tommy Vercetti from GTA: Vice City, for GTA 6. Its two playable characters are new: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Fans have spotted a few possible cameos (Valentina from GTA Online, a "Phil" who runs an Ammu-Nation) and the Ultimate Edition nods to Tommy's old mansion, but none of it is confirmed. We'll update this on launch day, November 19, 2026.

Is Franklin in GTA 6?
No announcement. Franklin Clinton isn't in any trailer, screenshot, character bio or the August 2026 Extended Look. GTA 6 is set in Leonida, across the country from Los Santos, and its story so far centres on the Leonida Keys and Vice City. A cameo can't be ruled out, but there's no evidence for one.
Will Michael or Trevor be in GTA 6?
Same answer: nothing official. Neither appears in Rockstar's GTA 6 material. GTA V's three leads stay in Los Santos as far as anyone knows, and Los Santos itself isn't in GTA 6: every region Rockstar lists is in Leonida. See where GTA 6 takes place.
Is Tommy Vercetti in GTA 6?
Not announced. GTA 6 brings back Vice City, Tommy's city from the 2002 game, but it's a modern Vice City in a different continuity. The GTA Wiki and outlets like Kotaku treat the "3D era" games (GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas) and the "HD era" (GTA IV onwards) as separate universes, and GTA 6 belongs to the HD one.
There is one official nod: the Ultimate Edition's Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers are "sourced from the Vercetti Estate". The community has pinned a Vercetti Estate in Vice City. Whether Tommy himself shows up is unknown. Our GTA 6 vs original Vice City guide compares the two maps.

Is CJ or Niko in GTA 6?
No sign of either. CJ is from the 3D-era San Andreas and Niko from GTA IV's Liberty City. Liberty City appears in GTA 6 only as part of Lucia's family history: see is Liberty City in GTA 6?
Why does Rockstar use new protagonists?
Every numbered GTA since III has introduced new leads, and Rockstar's GTA 6 material is built entirely around Jason and Lucia. Rockstar's tagline: "Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them." Returning faces have historically been side characters and cameos, which is what fans expect here too.
Where else does GTA 6 nod to the old games?
Vice City itself, with Ocean Beach and the Ocean View Hotel, both names from the 2002 game. The Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus promises items that "flash back to when the neon burned brightest", and Flash FM is back as a pop station. See the radio guide.
